Welcome to Day 1 of the 10,000 Kettlebells for Parkinson's Challenge. We are very excited about how the project has been gaining momentum. It is all about doing things that push you beyond your current abilities. It is a commitment to invest in your own wellness and fitness level. It is an opportunity to do something a bit (or a lot) out of your comfort zone in order to make a statement.
As you invest in yourself, you are also supporting research which ultimately improves the lives of people suffering with progressive movement disorders.
Let us know how you're doing as we go through the challenge this month. Hearing from you through your comments or by email means a lot. And if you need some encouragement - just ask!

two great days! yesterday 675 with a 130 rep PB (35 lbs), today 601 with a 56 rep PB (45 lbs) -- I genuinely feel great! very excited to be starting off well and am really focusing on form.
Girls did great - Casey 322 yesterday , 140 today.
Mac 135 yesterday, 110 today.
Tomorrow will be a rest day for me.
Some thoughts:
1. Nutrition - I can feel the craving for healthy foods - proteins and vegetables. I will try (as a secondary benefit) to improve my diet a bit throughout this process.
2. grunting - Kinda sounds silly but it feels pretty great to let out a nice loud sigh at the end of a long set or give a few forced breaths/grunts when getting pumped up for a tough set.
Just some thoughts! Going well and good luck to all others!
PS - Hydration will be key this month, try to hydrate more than normal!
The February 1, 2016 edition of the Moosomin World Spectator had a great full-page article about the 10,000 Kettlebells for Parkinson's Challenge. Raising awareness: Check.
